There is plenty of room to grow your own veggies, run some chooks and you will never run out of water with the large spring fed dam.
The main house has a brand new bespoke kitchen including blue gum timber and black galaxy stone benchtops with room for the family. Concrete butler sink, large gas cooker and huge island.
This opens up to the dining area which includes a wood heater to keep you cosy on a winter's night.
On the ground floor, there are two double bedrooms, one with French doors leading to a veranda are accessed from the open plan kitchen/dining area, as is the large family bathroom including a claw foot tub. There is also an outdoor rain shower where you can immerse yourself in nature.
The main living area has a huge inglenook fireplace to create the ambiance of yesteryear.
The floor is tiled with silver travertine and the walls are pine lined reminiscent of the old English style. Nineteenth century antique chandeliers complete the look. A 3.5 meter wide bi-fold opens up onto the spacious deck which includes a wood fired hot tub. Can you imagine soaking in the tub with a glass of wine looking up at the Milky Way above!
The main bedroom and en-suite are accessed via the iron spiral staircase. Here the ceilings soar above to a height of 4.5 meters constructed of blue gum timber from the mill just up the road. The ceiling is lined with old corrugated iron which is highly insulated above. Here hangs a huge one-of-a-kind chandelier that was made by the current owner. The handmade gothic arched window has also been lovingly crafted to complete the look. A small balcony off the bedroom is ideal for watching the glorious sunsets.
The en-suite has tadelakt walls, travertine floor, a mosaic niche, handmade vanity, antique brass tap ware and a funky black toilet.
At the front of the house there is a covered veranda which is a perfect spot to have breakfast in the morning sun. Laundry and artist studios are accessed from the veranda.
Through a winding forest path you will then come to the Faraway Cottage. The fully furnished studio will take your breath away and is perfect for guests, family or makes a fantastic AirBnB.
The choices are endless.
To create an escape of rustic elegance, many recycled materials were used. Beautiful old leadlight in the newly hand built window. Antique flooring and weatherboards and antique French crystal chandeliers. Hand carved trusses created using old mortise and tenon joinery.
The cottage has full kitchen facilities, wood heater, large bathroom with composting toilet and amazing claw foot tub on the veranda. And of course the love swing in the garden.
