A little farther through the National Park and you'll find yourself at the beachside café overlooking Trial Bay.
This property is the proverbial "escape" you have been dreaming of. A place to relax and unwind. A place for adventure.
The customised home has been professionally rebuilt to exacting standards. While it does have air conditioning and heating, the house is designed and oriented to take full advantage of the environment and temperate climate creating year-round comfort.
Winter sun drenches the house with warmth and light with a wood-burning heater adding extra ambiance.
In summer, sea breezes flow and ventilate throughout. The expansive eastern windows are protected from the morning sun by tree canopies creating a lovely filtered sunlight, with reduced exposure on the western side to protect from the afternoon summer heat.
The textures and colours of the outdoors are reflected in the designer finishes with lots of timber features and natural colours, blending the outside with inside.
You and your family will love being around the huge open plan kitchen and dining area that comes complete with expansive stone benchtops, timber floors and quality cooking appliances including 2 ovens and a huge induction cooktop. This area includes a sitting area for family and friends by the northern windows and flows seamlessly out to one of the alfresco areas.
Paved with natural stone, this outdoor area includes a custom-made stone BBQ, a huge covered area for summer entertaining and large open area flooded with sunlight during winter.
A stone-walled, stone-paved courtyard at the entrance to the house must be seen to be believed. Framed and protected from the wind by gabion walls, this private garden provides another space to enjoy nature and soak up the winter sun after a morning swim. A large sliding glass door further opens-up the area, connecting the internal 'Garden Room' living area to the courtyard.
The top storey is all parents' retreat including a balcony, separate studio-office overlooking the National Park, walk-in robes, extra storage, a full ensuite with picture windows showcasing the greenery, and a living area within the generous-sized bedroom.
An additional bedroom retreat downstairs can be discretely locked to transform into a self-contained unit complete with its own entrance, balcony, full ensuite, walk-in robe and study providing private accommodation for visiting family and friends when needed. It could also be utilised as a home office.
This home offers 4 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, 2 living areas and includes a studio-office, a study nook and an abundance of storage areas as well as the multiple outdoor areas.
The double garage has additional space for storage including hidden overhead spaces, loads of shelving as well as racks for bikes, surfboards, fishing rods and camping gear.
A separate additional adjoining block of land is available for purchase if desired. It includes a large existing shed with a separate toilet. It can be used for storage, a workshop, or as a fisherman's-type accommodation shack. There is also a smaller garden shed attached.
A delightful package, ready for you, your family and your friends to come and enjoy! Prime locations and lifestyles like this are very rare.
More about the area:
Arakoon Village is one of the most spectacular coastal niches in NSW and has a relaxed, friendly vibe, away from the masses. Bound by ocean, a lake and parks there is no more land available so it will remain a coastal bush village.
Arakoon has a range of idyllic beaches from the calm waters of Trial Bay, where you can swim every day of the year (and watch the sun go down over the water in the west!), to secluded ocean surf beaches to get the adrenaline pumping.
Some beaches can be accessed by car or walking tracks, and others by 4WD. You can also 4WD all the way along Smokey Cape Beach past sand dunes and more National Park to other seaside towns. If this house is your holiday home you can leave your 4WD in the garage for year-round access to these idyllic beaches, fishing, surfing or just scenic driving. Fly directly to Port Macquarie or Coffs Harbour and let the holiday begin.
Smokey Cape is home to an historic lighthouse and is a 1.5-hour hike via a Coastal Trail or you can drive there. This is the second most easterly point on Australia's East Coast which is worth noting as it picks up the warm currents from the North Pacific that other parts of the coast miss, bringing warm-water species of fish.
There is fantastic whale watching and you are only moments away from the World-renowned dive destination Fish Rock Cave.
Little Bay Reserve, at your doorstep, is the hub of walking trails with direct access to the National Park walking tracks to Trial Bay Gaol, Gap Beach, the lighthouse and Smokey Cape.
The historic Trial Bay Gaol is another jewel in Arakoon's crown. An attractive old ruin near the water's edge surrounded by picnic spots, it draws in tourists all year round. It can be accessed from your new home by walking through the National Park over Monument Track (which has great whale watching), for the more energetic, or 500m along the Bridle Trail for more of a picturesque stroll. Or you can drive. There is a Restaurant/Café on site which is a great destination any day of the week to socialise and stop for a meal or a coffee.
Five minutes from Arakoon is South West Rocks, a renowned coastal village, alive with tourists throughout the year. Famous for its varied attractions including beautiful beaches, the Macleay River, fishing and water sports you are never short of outdoor activities. The kayaking in Back Creek's clear waters is unforgettable.
Restaurants and cafes also abound in South West Rocks and this is where you will access other amenities such as medical centres, supermarkets, hairdressers, retail outlets, schools, markets, a museum and even a movie theatre. You can also visit South West Rocks by walking the 2.5km along the beach, or there's a bike track too.
The Mid North Coast Region is the fastest growing non-metropolitan area in NSW and is home to the Macleay Valley in which Arakoon sits. Great natural beauty and a truly relaxed lifestyle - that sums up the Macleay Valley.
The Macleay River is at its heart and it carves its way from the mountains of the New England Plateau to the sea at South West Rocks. Most types of water sports can be enjoyed, and the river is one of the last strongholds of the native bass, popular with freshwater anglers. Small boats and canoes can be utilised to explore the river in both the estuary and many kilometres of freshwater swimming holes.
This property is all about the beauty of the coast and the untouched natural environment - surf, sea and serenity. Let your new life begin!
